A double-tap of the pendant's ENABLE button at idle opens two tools that work together with the WebUI: Measure part finds a workpiece's size and centre from its corners, and Record waypoints collects positions for a drilling or pocketing job (Record & Retrace).
Double-tap ENABLE (two quick presses) while the machine is idle. The pendant asks What do you want to do? – tap Measure part or Record waypoints. Nothing is recorded until you choose.
Measure part
- Jog the tool to the bottom-left corner of the part and double-tap ENABLE.
- Do the same at the top-right, bottom-right and top-left corners. The strip under the view says which corner is next. Two opposite corners are enough.
- The view draws the corners, the part outline and its centre; the strip shows the size and the centre position.
Then, from the bottom bar:
- Go ctr (tap twice): Z goes up to the top, then the tool moves over the centre of the part.
- XY0 ctr / XY0 BL (tap twice): the work zero X0 Y0 is set at the centre or at the bottom-left corner. The machine does not move.
- Clear: start again. Finish: close Measure.
In the WebUI, Centre Finder opens by itself and takes the same corners, with the material height probe and the surfacing generator. Clearing on either side clears both. If you open Centre Finder in the WebUI first, the next double-tap on the pendant starts Measure straight away.
Record waypoints (Record & Retrace)
If waypoints are already in the list, the pendant asks whether to Add to them or start a New list.
- Jog to the first marked point and double-tap ENABLE: it becomes a waypoint. Repeat for each point.
- The view draws every waypoint to scale in order: a cross for a drilled hole, a circle for a round pocket, the outline for a rectangle, a dot for a move. The selected waypoint is yellow, the tool an orange dot.
- Tap a waypoint to select it (or use Prev / Next), then set it in the strip:
- Drill / Round / Rect / Move – what to do there.
- The sizes – Dia and Depth for round pockets, W, H, Depth and Ref (which corner the mark is) for rectangles. Tap a size, then turn the wheel: x1 = 0.01, x10 = 0.1, x100 = 1 mm. With ENABLE held the wheel jogs instead.
- Jog size – jog from the mark to the edge (round) or the opposite corner (rectangle) and double-tap: the size is measured for you.
- Delete removes the selected waypoint (tap twice). Finish ends recording.
In the WebUI, Record & Retrace opens by itself when you record on the pendant and shows the same waypoint map, list and editor; changes on either side show on the other at once. Set the tool diameter, safe Z, feeds and spindle speed there, check the G-code preview, and use Save & Prepare to make the job – then Run it like any other job.
Good to know
- The waypoint list is kept on the controller's SD card, so it survives restarts and is the same on the pendant and every WebUI.
- While the WebUI's Offcuts tool is open, a double-tap on the pendant takes an Offcuts point instead.
- Measure and Record need the dpCREATOR controller firmware from October 2026 or newer (Flash Firmware page).
